Chromes are the balloons that make a client stop and ask what they're made of. They're still latex — the finish is a mirror-like pigment in the latex, not a coating, so it doesn't rub off — and they inflate, tie and cluster exactly like the rest of the range, but they catch light in a way a pearl or metallic never quite does.

We run eight: Chrome Bronze Gold (warm, the one most people mean when they say "gold"), Chrome Gold (brighter and yellower), Chrome Rose Gold, Chrome Silver, Chrome Champagne, Chrome Blue, Chrome Green and Chrome Purple. Sizes vary by shade — the golds, silver and rose gold run through to 36" so you can thread a chrome through a whole garland instead of just dotting a few at the front. Packs are 50 for 5" and 12" and 25 for 18".

A tip from our own jobs: chromes show fingerprints and dust more than standard latex. Inflate with gloves or wipe them before install, and keep them out of direct sun if you can — the finish stays brighter for longer. Trade pricing shows once you're logged in; no minimum order.

Questions stylists ask

Which chrome is closest to "gold"?
Bronze Gold for most briefs — warm and rich. Chrome Gold is brighter and reads more like a trophy. Order the Sample Bag if the client is particular.

Do chromes float?
Yes, all sizes take helium. Float time is a little shorter than standard latex of the same size.

Can I mix chromes with standard colours?
That's where they work best: a chrome every fifth or sixth balloon in a White Sand and Coffee garland, or Rose Gold with Blush and Pearl White.
